PHASE I

Re-train the brain

The Human Body was designed millions of years ago to hunt & gather, run & hide, eat & rest, and learn from mistakes. In our early formative years from birth throughout childhood, we naturally follow this course, learning to crawl then walk & run, seeing & doing activities such as eating, writing...etc. As we grow older, we carve out daily routines for ourselves and we slowly stop learning new physical movements while relying almost solely on what we learned very early. Here's a test; Make a fist. Count one, two, and three. On three, extend your index finger. Do it again, but this time extend your pinky. Was one easier than the other? Now stand up straight and tall, count to three and this time contract your lower trapezius. How did that go for you? Not quite as easy was it? Muscles, that you do not have regular distinct contact with, become somewhat hard to find, thus hard to use in a distinct manner. In this initial phase, we will re-develop pathways to these muscles. Along the way, exercises will be introduced that specifically target your personal fitness goals. I will ask you to keep a food diary. We will take a look at what and how you commonly eat and decide on substitutions for junk or bad choice foods. This is what Phase I is all about. Re-connecting with neglected muscles and/or muscle groups and fueling it with good nutrition so that you can begin to function in a more efficient and balanced manner.
