Garfield Moore

Cellist and teacher Garfield Moore has joined the faculty of the Hudson Valley Academy of the Performing Arts.

Mr. Moore been a guest artist lecturer at the Juilliard School, taught cello, coached chamber music, and given master classes in the MAP program, at University of California at Santa Cruz, The Bartok Conservatory of Hungary, and the Harlem School of the Arts ,in addition to maintaining private studios in NYC and the Hudson Valley.

He is an active soloist and recitalist, and his recent discography includes the premiere recording of the Duo for Cello and Piano of the noted composer Allen Brings.

Having completed undergraduate and graduate studies at Stanford University, in addition to receiving an Artist Certificate from the Hautes Etudes Musicales in Switzerland, Mr Moore has served as adjudicator/panelist for the Pre College Division of the Juilliard School, Chamber Music America (Chamber Music Residency Award), and the New York State Council on the Arts (Composer Grant Award).
